I’m Mediatrix Kelly, the founder of Meddy’s which is registered fully as Meddy’s Greenery Ltd in Nigeria. As a young black female growing up in Nigeria, I had the same struggles a lot of young black females experienced and are currently experiencing. Nothing out there just felt right for my lifestyle, especially for my hair. I had bags of hair and skincare products. I mean I literally had bags of hair and skincare products. Nothing felt right. The search for products that suited me uniquely turned me to research. This opened me up to the realization that I was not alone in this struggle. I came across testimonies about the harm caused by a lot of everyday products and this got me investigating the causes of these harms. It was all about the ingredients. The need to find ingredients that were safe and effective became more important to me, and my research exposed me to plant-derived ingredients. Meddy’s was conceived out from this experience. In 2017 I launched Meddy’s and in 2019 it was incorporated in Nigeria. My objectives are now focused on promoting healthier lifestyles through the use of plant-derived ingredients for hair and skincare products. .
